Learn more at [please apply online] Big Rock Sports is in immediate need for a Sales and Use Tax Analyst to work at the following locations: Graham, NC.

As a Sales and Use Tax Analyst, you will oversee preparation of monthly sales and use tax returns, journal entries, tax payment processing, and business registrations. In this role, you will have an opportunity to use your knowledge to improve processes and to research and respond to inquiries from taxing authorities. Over time, the person in this role could assume responsibility for aspects of income tax planning and compliance. This position will work closely with the CFO and Treasurer. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated professional, with a strong analytical mindset, that is adept at working in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field is preferred but not required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience with sales and use tax rules, regulations, and reporting.
• Highly organized and able to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Possess a strong work ethic, personal and professional integrity, and a positive attitude.
• Prepare/file/process payments for multi-state sales and use tax returns, business licenses, annual reports and other miscellaneous tax returns.
• Construct clear and detailed workpapers to support tax filings.
• Oversee maintenance of sales and use tax records including database of resale certificates.
• Recommend and develop new or enhanced tax reporting processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and mitigate risks.
• Assist with tax audits, prepare responses to notices, and respond to other tax-related inquiries.
